JobHero ("we", "us", "our") operates jobhero.in. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect from you, how we use it, and your rights. By using JobHero, you agree to the terms in this policy. If you disagree, please do not use the platform.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide directly:
- Name, email address, and password when you create an account
- Profile information such as job title, location, skills, and work experience
- Job applications you submit through our platform
- Job listings and company information if you are an employer
- Messages you send us via the contact form
Information collected automatically:
- Browser type, device type, and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on each page
- Search queries made on the platform
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Referring website or source
Information from third parties:
- If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from Google
- Job listing data from our API partners (JSearch, Adzuna) is not personal data
2. How we use your information
- To create and manage your account
- To show you relevant job listings based on your profile and search history
- To send job alert emails you have subscribed to
- To allow employers to contact you about your application
- To process job posting payments (employers)
- To improve our platform based on usage patterns
- To send service notifications (e.g. password resets, listing expiry reminders)
- To respond to support requests
We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising on other platforms.
3. Information sharing
We share your information only in the following circumstances:
- With employers: When you apply for a job, the employer receives your application details including your name, email, and any information you included in your application.
- Service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, Razorpay for payments, and analytics providers. These services only receive the data necessary to perform their function.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data to any third party for commercial purposes.
4. Data storage and security
Your data is stored securely using industry-standard encryption. We use Firebase (Google Cloud) infrastructure, which complies with international data security standards.
Passwords are never stored in plain text. We use Firebase Authentication which handles password security using best-in-class hashing.
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data is removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information in your profile at any time
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and all associated data
- Opt-out: Unsubscribe from job alert emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email
- Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format

6. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
- Keep you signed in to your account (session cookies)
- Remember your search preferences and filters
